CT AMC Conservation Committee
Bigelow Hollow State Forest trail clean up and paddling outing
July 8, 2006
Members and friends of the CT AMC Conservation Committee met at Bigelow Hollow State Forest for a joint hike, trail cleanup, and paddling outing with the CT Flatwater Committee. The group split up in the morning and the hiking group hiked the Mashapaug Pond View Trail and collected trash. The paddling group went out on the Mashapaug Pond and collected trash as well. Everyone reunited at noon and Aimee Santeler, CT Conservation Committee, provided lunch for the group. After the satisfying lunch the group set out for a hike and cleanup of the Bigelow Pond Loop Trail. The day was a great success and the committee would like to thank all the volunteers (listed below) who gave up a beautiful Saturday to give back to Connecticut's Forests. Also, the committee would like to extend a special thank you to Connie Rokicki, who lead both the morning and afternoon hikes.
