Trip Leadership Requirements

Trip Leadership Application Form

Standards for Leader Certification

The Mountaineering Chair shall have the authority to determine if a person meets the qualifications for certification as a Leader for any type of trip based upon input from that person on the required Mountaineering Trip Leader Application Form. The Mountaineering Chair, or a person so designated by the Chair, shall maintain a roster of all Members of the Mountaineering Committee and their current certifications as Trip Leaders. Once a person is certified as a trip leader, that certification shall remain in effect unless a period of three years pass within which that person does not lead any activity or club trip.

These Standards For Certification shall take effect thirty days after being ratified by a meeting of the Mountaineering Committee called for that purpose with two weeks notice given by E- mail to all persons on the list. At this meeting, two thirds in attendance must approve of the rules, with at least fifteen people voting yes. These rules may be modified by use of the same schedule.
