Our mission is to organize trail maintenance for the Appalachian Trail and access trails in Connecticut.
Did you encounter a blown down tree on the trail? How about a water source that has dried up, a washout or water running over the trail? Report these problems or other needed trail maintenance to people who can help by emailing our new trail reports hotline. You can even praise the hard work done by these volunteers! When sending your report, include the name of the trail, the town, and the distance to the problem from a good landmark (campsite, trail head, road crossing, etc.). Thanks for your help!
8/14/09 - The Plateau Campsite has been closed permanently. The closure is in response to the limited size of the site, boundary issues, neighbor concerns, and environmental issues. The area beyond the spring will be managed as a revegetation area. The blue-blazed side trail to the spring will remain open and maintained.
8/14/09 - A new moldering, composting privy has been constructed at the Rte 41 hiker parking lot.
Trail Maintenance: Thanks to everyone who gives their time to Work Parties, which contribute to the care and improvement of CT AMC-maintained trails and the lands adjacent to it. The Trail NEEDS YOUR HELP!! Contact any member of the Trails Committee for information on additional opportunities.
